Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Thanksgiving! I’m so happy today 🙂   So…it’s been a long time since we’ve had meat to eat. We’ve probably only had it 3 times this whole trip. But yesterday we had the priviledge of killing 3 chickens by ourselves so we could eat it today! It was quite the experience. Gross? Yes.. extremely. Repulsive? Of course! The chicken got loose after we cut it’s head off, that was fun trying to catch it again. Thankfully we had some help from some of our friends we’ve made here. They walked us through each step. But are we all proud of ourselve...

Imitating

Imitating Jesus “BE HOLY, because I AM HOLY” Imitate: to have or assume the appearance of; simulate; resemble. To follow. A challenge this week for myself is to be an imitator of Jesus.  Jesus is holy. He chose me, his child to be holy and to live a holy life pleasing to him. Eph. 5:1-2 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.  And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Imitate his love.  Love is patient, kind, does not boast, is not proud, is not rude, not self-seeking, not easily angered, keeps no...

Joy

Nehemiah 8:10- “Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. The past week and a half, the team and I, along with the ministry partners in Nsoko, have been hosting Christmas parties at multiple care points and I have to say, Christmas parties are by far my most favorite ministry on this entire trip! There isn’t much to the parties. We play 2 games: a relay race and a donut eating challenge. Then we sing some songs and have a...

Things I love…

I have been blessed to spend three months in Swaziland with 13 amazing women who all have incredible qualities that I love and admire:   Jenn: her incredible servants heart, she loves to do voice and when God gives her something to say you hear the passion she has in her voice, I believe she is like a lion: soft, cute and cuddly as she is friendly, welcoming and relational but she things for others without drawing attention to herself, she is always one of the first people to offer to do the things others don’t want to do and it comes so naturally to her. She also has a powerful also...

Time Flies By…

I’m just sitting outside right now in the sunshine and on a chair in Africa with chickens literally all around me. I am just really happy. I am content. I am loved. I am a daughter of Christ. I am blessed. I love God. I love music. I love life. I love myself. I can do all things through he who strengthens me. He is God! He is Awesome! He is powerful! He is the creator! He is mine! He is yours! I was just sitting here reading the bible and found a verse I really like, its Psalm 130:7 “O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full...

Verses.

I thought I would write a blog about the verses that have stood out to me and stayed with me during this time in Swaziland. Most of these I have shared or heard shared and God’s voice was loud through them. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honoured, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. -Isaiah 43:4 But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. -2 Corinthians 2:14. …so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not...
