I’m coming! Hope is on the way! I will love you!

Hey friends!      First, let me start by saying “thank you!” Man, thank you doesn’t even begin to express how grateful I am. Raising support was such a vulnerable and also humbling experience for me. first I had to admit that I needed help. That’s so hard to do and second as I saw my total increase, almost daily I was brought to tears. It’s one thing to think that people support you and another thing to know it, and its one thing to think God is calling you someone and then a whole nother thing to watch Him confirm it. Let it come!

What does it sound like when we sing Heaven’s song? What does it feel like when Heaven comes down? What does it look like when God is all around?   This week during training camp we were taught, challenged, encouraged, and stretched.  On our first night together we spent the night, until 4am, on the streets of Atlanta experiencing life as the homeless.  It was by far the most miserable night of my life, but through the night the Lord taught my so much about the hope that comes from having a relationship with Him.  The people living on the streets had more joy and...

Falling in Love with a Beautiful God

“Then He called his disciples and the crowd to come over and listen as he said… If any of you wants to be my follower, you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross, and follow me. If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News you will find true life. And how do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul in the process?” This is our last week in the beautiful home we call Nsoko. And what a perfect ending to a place that has changed us each so...

House Visits

I came to Swazi land thinking that I would help people. That is the purpose of missions right? To change the world by showing Christ’s love to the broken and needy. What more noble cause is there than to love an aids orphan or to sit with a woman whose daughter has just died? I have discovered though that missions is so much more than that. It’s about Christ changing me and shaping me into the woman he wants me to be. It’s about seeing him in the little things like a child’s smile. It’s about him using the people of Nsoko...

Break My Heart for What Breaks Yours

We sing out these words all the time in worship and sometimes I think we barely think about what we are asking God to do in our lives. We are asking him for hurt, for pain, for burdens. These words became so true in my heart late Monday night. Two of our leaders were up late talking in the kitchen of our team house here in Nsoko, the last thing they expected was a small face to appear in the window muttering “Bailey.” Pamela at once recognized the young girl as Abigail, a young girl I had made friends with the previous Friday. They came and got me immediately and as soon as...
