Explosion of Swazi Senses

Swazi sights, smells, tastes, sounds, feelings.  My mind is blown at what my God does in this world and how one side can be so different from another.     One little country.  Swaziland.  The size of New Jersey. But so much beauty and so many lessons to be learned and senses to take in.     I see children playing, goats eating trash, the red dirt of Africa, a bright white smile of a child, endless mountain ranges, people walking everywhere, cows roaming, an incredible tapestry of stars, flat feet of shoeless people, tiny African shacks, people...

An Ode to my Ducklings

An Ode to my Ducklings. Shalom my children… My ducklings. My sisters. Thank you… For having grace on me. For loving me in the midst of my mess and reaching out to me to expose your own messes as well. Because of this summer, I have legit been changed for good.   I miss you guys. I miss the nightly runs to the green castle… I miss the four hour trips to the green castle with Rugby. I miss the bat attack every single night and seeing Gene slowly scooting under the table with pure terror on her face. I miss studying James and jamming to Will Reagan on my...

A Boy Called Me Mom

A boy called me mom… My heart will forever be changed.   I will forever be attached to Swaziland… Because a boy called me mom.   A boy who is old enough to know the meaning of mother… Called me mom.   A boy who speaks good English… Called me mom.   A boy who I met on the first day we ever did ministry and have been OBSESSED with ever since… Called me mom.   A boy with gaping holes in all of his clothing… Called me mom.   A boy whose shoes are barely holding together… Called me mom.   A boy who at the age...
