Jokes on you, Satan

Our team is leaving in less than 24 hours for a trip of a lifetime. Words can’t begin to express the overwhelming excitement in my heart as well as the rest of my team.   These past four days of training camp have been a life changing experience in itself. From the time of arriving in Atlanta to bunking with 30 other girls in a hot, humid, cabin; I have felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. Relief was poured over me each day as our leaders and trainers increased our education and spiritual relationship with the Lord.   Kelly, one of the coordinators of the camp, led an...

Give Me Your Eyes

We are strong. We are courageous. We are compassionate. We are SWAZI 2010! Yesterday and today we spent our afternoons painting on a canvas what God’s mission and vision for our trip is.  As we prayed we couldn’t helped but be overwhelmed with what the Lord is doing. Our God is a GOOD God!!!  This is our painting: And this is what it represents: The eye was the clearest representation we had.  It represents the fact that we are to look at the people of Swaziland through God’s eyes and not our own.   Africa is where we are...

A Part

I now know why this is called “Real Life”…because I keep thinking “Is this real life?? Am I really leaving for Africa tomorrow?!?” God has done some amazing work these past four days at training camp. He is reminding me that apart from Him, I am nothing. But because He loves me so much, He lets me be a part of his story. So I’m resting in the fact that I am His daughter and that He has something AMAZING prepared for me in Swaziland! He also keeps whispering in my ear that I’m not alone. I have wonderful support from home. I have an incredible...

Surrender

Hello! My name is Meredith Evert I was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA. I grew up in a christian home and a surrounded by people who loved me. Growing up I always tried to please the people who surrounded me instead of listening to God and following for his will for my life. The older I got the more I struggled with pleasing people and trying to do things off of my own strength. I was sick of doing things just to make others happy and being okay on the outside but feeling ashamed and empty inside. My life became one big mess, I jumped around trying to figure who I was and what my life...

Freedom

Hi!!  My name is Rachel Swearingen and I am from Denver Colorado!  I am so excited to be part of this team and have the opportunity to travel to Swaziland Africa!   Last night at worship I really felt God moving.  I heard him saying that he is going to do wild things!  I also felt like he was telling me how each girl on our trip had a specific purpose in the group and that each of our gifts and personalities were going to mesh together and just work!  I am excited to see what that will look like.  I am learning more and more to trust God, and it is easy...
