ACT

Yesterday we went to Bvenie Carepoint to help with handprints again. As we pulled up you could not help but notice that not many kids were there. We soon found out that this was because they had a very limited supply of food. They made some porridge to feed some of the kids, to which they added the sugar we bought them and the bread we supplies was served as a side item. Once that was out there was nothing until Monday. Some of the children that come to carepoints come because it is their only meal each day. So the fact that we did not even have enough food to feed all of them on Thursday...

Dust and Delight

This week, I’ve been encouraged by 1 Samuel 2:8. “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heep; He seats them with the princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. “For the foundations of the Earth are the Lord’s, upon them He sets the world.” What a sweet promise for the people I spend my days with! The go-go’s, the crying babies, the needy children and the hungry adolescents, each of them will be raised out of these dusty, barren lands and will be seated next to the Creator of the universe and fed unceasingly. The Lord is...

Come and Listen

1st Samuel 3:9 – “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”      So I didn’t blog last week. I was sitting at the computer trying to figure out what I was going to write and I felt like the Lord was saying “Hey, you don’t need to write about anything right now. Just spend some time LISTENING to Me.” For me, to write a blog last week would have been disobedient.      This past week I’ve been trying to turn my brain off and just listen to what the Lord is trying to tell me. He’s been teaching me how...

It’s crazy to think that I had to travel this far to Swaziland, Africa in order to realize...

250 children

Ok so it has been a long time since I have put a blog up but the internet keeps losing connection everytime I try to put it up haha so hopefully it will work this time! We had a little change in plans for today. We were originally planning to go to a carepoint and then come blog and stuff but yesterday evening we got invited to go to a school today and were told that they would need someone to have a short message. So we were all just relaxing and Patrice comes and tells us the change and said that we needed to ask God who was suppose to speak today. I knew pretty much immediately that...

Fighting Battles

All my life, in every season, you are still God and I have a reason to sing and worship. This morning our team broke our 60 hour fast with communion and worship. There was no doubt that the Holy Spirit fell on our little hut and moved in each of our hearts. This fast was one of the biggest lessons in obedience I have ever had. Yesterday night, we sat around in a circle and each shared how the Lord moved in our lives during the fast and what we heard him speaking to us. As I sat and listened to everyone’s testimony I kept asking the Lord why do I feel like I have not blatantly heard...
