Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

Wow! We have been here for about 2 weeks now, although it seems a lot longer than that! God has already been moving in me these last couple weeks especially since i have been struggling with homesickness! God is good though. We have been continuing going to the carepoints, and i love seeing all the kids faces when we show up! It is so sweet and letting them climb all over you! Some boys almost broke my back by trying to get on it! But i loved hanging with them every moment. Being here has been hard work, but i enjoy getting to know this different culture out here. It makes me realize...

The heart of Jesus

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”   It’s been another week full of love. We go to a care point pretty much every day. I love that I get the privilege of loving these precious children. I am honored to be the one that God uses to keep His promises to His little ones. I get to be the very hands and feet of Jesus.   What does that look like? A lap to sit on instead of the ground. The smile that is contagious. A shoulder to cry on. That kiss or that hug. A hand to...

Team Swazi!

Thes past two weeks in Swaziland have began to teach me what hard work truly is 🙂 Just last week me and some other girls from our team went to help the gogos with some chores and they had us fetch some water. We had to cary huge buckets of water up hil on our heads! It was crazy! As i did this I realized that this is normal for many of the Swazi people. If they dont do this than they wont have access to any water. Back at home we have so much brought to us. Like water is brought to us from a sink! We really have alot to be thankful for 🙂 I and the rest of the team really love our trips...

Arise and Shine.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, And thick darkness the peoples; But the Lord will arise upon you. And nations shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising. -Isaiah 60:1-3.   I love this scripture. I love the light!   God has been continually reminding me of it for the past few months and this past week while our team was worshipping I opened up to it in my Bible and as I read it the Lord gave me a picture.  Basically I saw our team...

Despair? Where??

Did you know that by the year 2050 Swaziland will cease to exist if the problem of widespread HIV/AIDS is not controlled? Did you know how deeply engrained sexual sin/assault and poverty is here? Did you know that children here walk miles and miles on rough rocks and glass with no shoes? Knowing this our minds our quick to see the word despair; and before being here I thought that too. But what I see now is beauty and joy. While these people may be lacking food, comfort, and clothing, they have the most precious gift of all. Joy. Joy that comes through knowing the love of Jesus. Even...

Beauty

What do you think of when you see or hear the word beauty?   Here in Swaziland beauty has been one single word that overall describes this adventure the past couple weeks. Here beauty is courage, complete trust, a humbled heart, a life fully surrendered and submitted to God.  Gods light radiating through His children, quietness, confidence, stillness before the Lord, contentment, growth in Christ Jesus, unity with Jesus and believers, joy.  Knowing and believing who we are in Gods image.    1 Peter 3:3-4 Our beauty should not come from outward adornment, such...
