Ministry practice

Ministry practice: As I see it, that’s really what we’re doing here. At least at our designated ministry places.  We have somewhere between 1 and 4 hours with these people once or twice a week. That is the influence that God has trusted us with in their lives. But what about the people we are with 24/7? Or even our families when we are at home? It would seem that we are to have greater ministry in their lives, seeing that the Lord is trusting us to that position a great deal more of the time than He is with “actual” ministry.  Often times when we get done with...

Extraordinary

What an adventure it’s been so far. I can now say I’m used to using a toilet with no privacy or flush. It’s normal to take a shower from a bucket. It’s now normal to come back from a carepoint covered in mud, food, slober, and who knows what else. It’s normal to chase chickens out of your room or walk beside herds of cows on the road. I AM …

I AM …   God wants to know who you are? He wants you to feel his presence and find out who you are in him.  The other night at our worship time Tara had a vision of us writting who we are in God.  I really Loved this!  I wrote I am faithful.  Ever since I got her I keep hearing faithful being used a lot in the songs the Swazi people sing and the second day we got here we asked the people to give us Saswati names, because that is what they like to do.  I was given the name “Thembekile” which means faithful to the one you love.  I am...

The Love of Jesus is so wonderful         The Love of Jesus is so Wonderful       The love of Jesus is so Wonderful   Oooooh wonderful love!     This is the song we sing pretty much everyday. Yesterday I was walking with Kelsey and we telling each other about the goodness of God in our lives. It made me so excited to see how good He...

Trust

Trust Wow, that is literally such a huge word packed with so much power. People say, “Just trust me, I got your back” or “It’s okay…trust me..”   But how often do we fall for that trick. Yeah, I trust you, but how much? Are there boudries? Are there limits?? How do I know if you’re being for real, I mean, can I really trust you??   This is what I think of when I think of trust. In my experience I’ve trusted way too much or not enough. But haven’t we all? So now I’m nervous. I’ve got my heart broken too much because...
