The Truth Is…Ã’m Weak

It’s hard to believe that this past Sunday marked exactly 1 month since I have left home. Within this month ever fiber of my being has been tested, stretched, pushed, and molded. Battling living discomforts, homesickness, and physical sickness has not made this first month a walk in the park. There have been moments of unexplainable joy followed my moments of doubt and exhaustion. Yet in all of this, God has shown me the most abundant source of strength and comfort. As I have been reading through Paul’s letters I am captivated by his missionary journeys. While I have not sought...

New Frienships.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.   I’ve had the opportunity to start building a relationship with this wonderful family. There is a grandmother named Gladys, her daughter Candy, and Candy’s son...

Great and Mighty Things

This is a verse I have been praying over our ministry here in Swaziland for a few months, and some pictures! Jeremiah 33:3,6 “‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.’..’Behold I will bring health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.'”

Team Swazi!

Everything is pretty much the same in Africa 🙂   Everyday I am here I love it more and more. Going to the care points is one of my favorite things  to do. The kids at the care points are always so happy when we show up. The other day we had at least three kids hanging off of us at a time! Its amazing to see how happy there are even when you thing about how little they have. Some of them only eat once a day at the care points and they have to walk long distances to get there. It makes you realize how lucky you are to have so much. Thats all for today. Hipefully i will have...

Has anyone seen my heart anywhere??? I can’t seem to find it….

So the following are my thoughts and feelings after returning from a home visit a couple days ago.  A couple friends and I are getting to know this family really well and I just adore them and I felt so heartbroken at the fact that we’re going to have to leave them, probably to never return again. “Where has my heart gone? I’m afraid my heart is officially gone now, Lord. I adore that family so much that I’m now wondering how I’m going to be able to leave them in a month. They’re all so precious and loving and it’s such a wonderful feeling to...

Adventure of a lifetime

Wow! Another week in Swaziland has passed and God has been working in all of our lives here. We have finally adjusted to this culture here. From going to  carepoints to the hospital to other ministries we have learned a lot. Being in Swaziland has taught me so much about depending and trusting God in everything. Without him here we would be totally lost and miserable. Seeing the kids faces when we go to the carepoints and play with them, breaks my heart with love and I love being around them. They are always so happy and they hardly have anything. I love it so much when they jump all...
