Love unconditionally

The greatest way to evangelize is to love. Be Jesus’ hands and feet, and simply love unconditionally.   “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and for everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John 4:7

What’s New in Swaziland?

What’s new in Swaziland? Not a whole lot. Besides living in our homestead, going to the bathroom with no door, and taking bucket showers once a week, not much has changed. The weather has been really hot and each day that I take my backpack off, sweat is dripping down my back! Another week has passed here in Swaziland! From going to South Africa last Friday to do ministry around Timbutini and Manzini, we have been pretty busy. We have now been here in Swaziland for over a month now and it has been interesting and crazy since coming here a month ago! We are still going to the care points...

Glad Hearts and Thanksgiving

Monday was Canada’s Thanksgiving. We have three Canadians on this team. So we had as much of a Thanksgiving feast as was possible. We had mashed potatoes, veggies, beef, flat bread, and donuts. It was delicious. And we all ate until we could explode like a normal Thanksgiving. We went around the room and did the typical “What are you thankful for?” However, it was different because after spending a month in Africa, we’ve all come to realize even more,  how much we are blessed. We have so so so much to be thankful for. I loved hearing what everyone of my sisters was...

I’ve Found Joy…Literally

While in my last blog I expressed my overwhelming sense of the emotional joy I have found here in these people of Swaziland, this time I’ve found a different kind of a joy. A tangible joy, this joy…is a person. After a prayer session, my friend aubrey and I set out to find a ministry of our own. There is a neighboring house that we have been dying to meet the people. After several failed attempts to get into the barbwire fence we decided it just wasn’t God’s will. We started to head back to our hut when we saw a house directly across the street from ours we never had...

Him Above All Else

The critical question for our generation -is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ was not there? – John Piper, God is the Gospel              (taken from Crazy Love by Francis Chan)   As I read that paragraph, all of those things sounded so appealing because of where...

It’s love.

In the past couple blogs I have mentioned Khosi.  Tuesday our team went back to the Hope House and there I saw Khosi again!  I walked in when Colleen, Cassie, and Natalie were in reading Scripture with her.  It is a blessing and amazing to be able to freely read Gods word to those who are in need of his perfect and true words.  When Tara and I sat down and joined in with talking to Khosi, she was not feeling too great.  she still had high spirits and spoke positive.  A couple things she said: she is ready for Jesus to return (AMEN!)  She was thinking and...
