A Spirit of Fear

Two nights ago somthing strange happened to me. I had a nightmare. some may argue that this is not strange at all, but my last nightmare was ten years ago after i watched jumanji. I woke up several times in the night, not uncommon at all, except that it was from this bad dream. I planned on keeping it myself and not thinking about it in the morning. untill I talked to Billy. He seemed more intersted my normal about my nights rest and I asid i woke up a few times and expected to leave it at that. then bhe told me about his night.   It started when landon woke up and heard a voice...

My name is Kaci. I am 21 years old. I am a girl.

This is Thaban. He is five years old. He loves to be held and to play. His eyes sparkle when he smiles, and so many of us on our team have fallen completely in love with him. Thaban can’t speak. We are told that he does not swallow properly. Because of this, Thaban constantly has a tremendous amount of drool dripping out of his mouth and caked all over his clothes. Thaban teaches me how incredibly selfish I can be. It’s often so hard to pick Thaban up when you are hot, soaked with sweat, and the last thing you want to do is have drool all over your clothes,...

Nothando

<–Mandesa- she’s hillarious! Another week in Africa.  This week our team took some time listening to the Lord as to where we felt led to minister. We’ve been taking another week to get acclimated to our surroundings and build relationships with others. It takes a while to understand concepts of their culture since it is so different from ours. Some examples- most of the time it isn’t appropriate to call an older woman by her name. It’s similar to the concept of Mr. and Mrs. but rather mage or gogo. Also, when offered food it is always considered...

Philile & Hawida

Wednesday we got the chance to go to the hospital in Manzini. This hospital is run by the government, a government that doesn’t fufill the rights of the people. Patients in the hospital will be delayed care and treatment so that the government doesn’t have to pay to send them elsewhere. Children are insured but don’t receive the privileges. Many of the people in this hospital seem to have been forgotten and lost much of their dignity. Upon first entering the women’s ward with a few girls on my team, there was no presence of joy, something we had to rely on...

I love you I love you I love you I love you

Hey everybody, A lot has already happened in two weeks time. I need to introduce you to some of my new friends. This week we’ll kick off with Daban a.k.a. ‘Drooler’. He is a boy at the Timbutini care point, which is the closest to our homestead. I’d say he’s around 5 years old. His two front teeth are missing, and his food never seems to make it past his face into his mouth. He always has a ring of his latest meal plastered to his cheeks and chin. The kid never stops smiling… or drooling. I had the pleasure of sitting in the back of Discipleship class...

bring it on!

Me and Sunda   Good friends,  I wanted to send a message out to you guys telling you a little more about what’s been going on/how you can be praying for us. I don’t know where you all (or “y’all”) stand on spiritual warfare or if it’s something you’ve experienced, but it is potent here is Swazi. Since we’ve been in Swazi the guys (5 of us: Neal, Billy, Landon, Ryan & I) have been attacked in our dreams. Satan’s got some good lies but we have a great God!  Last night (Thursday night/Friday...
