Speaking Life!

It seems like a whirlwind but we made it to Swaziland after long travel, months of preparation, prayers and some anxiety.  We are still in that stage where honestly anything can happen and that’s exciting.    Throughout the past few trips I have led I have learned so much about the power that I have, specifically about the power I have to speak life into things.  I have the ability to see things as they are and except them and speak about them as they are.  Or I have the authority to see things through God’s eyes and speak life into things.  Throughout so...

mall! manzini! swaziland! 2010!

I’m at the mall in Manzini, Swaziland right now. Michelle and I were just walking around, in and out of stores just looking around. We stopped in ShopRite (A local grocery store) and bought a few drinks, including 2 cans of very refreshing Mountain Dew. After purchasing them we reminded one another of the training session we had the day we arrived in Swazi, on Tuesday. At the session we were taught cultural norms in Swazi; No eating in public; No burping in public; Giving and receiving with your right hand only. So Michelle and I then had to discuss whether or not drinking our...

As I wait You make me STRONG!

This past week has been so long but short at the same time. At training camp I was so anxious to just be in Swazi already but God did so much in my heart and life while I was there that I am glad we were able to be there. I never thought that I would feel this way about God or experience Him in such an intimate way. The plane ride was funny in many ways especially sitting next to Dauna and the crazy lady but it went much faster than I anticipated. When we got off the plane and touched the ground of South Africa it was nothing as I had expected. We stayed in an amazing hotel met out contact...

Reality

Our bus bumped along the rocky dirt road and I looked out the window at all of our surroundings. Little huts were spread around with metal roofs, smoke was in the air from families cooking their dinner, men with torn shirts and shorts walked the road, smiling as we drove past.  As we rounded the corner the bus came to a stop and I knew we were about to see where we were going to live for the next three weeks.  I became nervous, wondering what my bed would feel like, and where I would be eating.  I stepped out and observed.     Our rooms were nice, cement...

Is this real life?

3 AM, sweating like crazy, tossing back and forth…the biggest of the roosters decides to make his presence known at our gate. Someone casually whispers, is this real life? Oh Swaziland. I could still muster up enough brain power after all the traveling to look around at the absolutely stunning country. Never could I have imagined myself traveling through the enormous hills of this hope filled countryside. The people wave at you with the biggest smile no matter who you are or what your purpose is. The most comforting smiles came from the children that were walking home from school...
