My Father-Daughter Trip

This trip to Swaziland is a Father-Daughter trip for me and my heavenly Abba. My heavenly Abba has had this trip planned out since before I was born. As I grew older He would tell me a little bit about it and give me small glimpses as to where we would go (Africa), but He couldn’t tell me everything until I was ready (and He likes to surprise me). As I grew up my heavenly Abba prepared me for this trip; I didn’t always know it, but He was teaching me things that would equip me for this trip so that I could handle it and enjoy it to its fullest. It took me some time to learn all...

Red Lipstick

Let our lives be a love letter, a song of Solomon.  Let our prayers be a basket of roses, an offering of frankincense and myrrh.  Let our words be a sought embrace, a breath of life.  Let our songs be a sparkling jewel, a psalm of David. Let our walk be romantic, let us be your bride.    Shall we send the wedding invitations? Tell our loved ones and beloved friends? Find peace when remembering our first meeting place? Squeal with joy when sharing the time the truth was humbly uttered?    “I love you” says stained lips. “I love you”...

Finding A Home

As I stepped though the church door way, I was greeted by 30 brilliant smiles. I found my seat and waited for someone to announce the beginning of church. As I waited, a woman broke out in song- her voice strong and full of soul. Then, to my surprise, others began singing along with her. Life In The Extremes

Coming to Swaziland I thought I had no expectations, or at least I knew what to expect. My team and I have only been here in Nsoko, Swaziland for a little over a week, but already whatever expectations I had have been blown away. All 21 of us live in a team building in extremely close quarters. The 16 of us girls are squeezed together in a room smaller than my bedroom back home. Our care point has a church, a preschool, a playground, and our team building, which is also used as the office space for the Adventures in Missions national staff.   Our whole team has been broken down...

Sawubona!

Greetings from Swaziland!   We arrived here in Nsoko five days ago and so far we’re loving every minute of it! Ministry doesn’t start here until tomorrow (February 2nd), but everyone has been diving right into loving on the kids here and getting to know the community.   This is a very safe place that we live in; we’re staying at a place called The Anchor Center which is a community center that has a medical clinic, a preschool, a church, community garden, a care point, a soccer field, and our team house. At the care point they provide one meal a day for kids...
