Glad Hearts and Thanksgiving

Monday was Canada’s Thanksgiving. We have three Canadians on this team. So we had as much of a Thanksgiving feast as was possible. We had mashed potatoes, veggies, beef, flat bread, and donuts. It was delicious. And we all ate until we could explode like a normal Thanksgiving. We went around the room and did the typical “What are you thankful for?” However, it was different because after spending a month in Africa, we’ve all come to realize even more,  how much we are blessed. We have so so so much to be thankful for. I loved hearing what everyone of my sisters was...

Mom, Dad…. I think I’m in Love

I have been seen. I have been chosen. I have been pursued. I have been wooed. I have been courted. I have been claimed. I have been won.           It’s basically impossible not to come to Africa and not fall in love. In love with the people. In love with the animals. In love with the land. In love with the way of life. In love with the weather. In love with everything.       Africa is majestic. Simple. Profound. Astounding. Mighty. Beautiful. Loved. Enchanting. Chanllenging.       ALIVE.     I can’t...

MY TEAM! :)

Something that has amazed me from each of the girls on my team??   Aubrey: Her outgoing and honest spirit.  She is so full of life and just the way she talks and smiles at everyone we meet.  People are attracted to her and you can see God shining through her. Kim: Everyone loves you! You are hilarious and bring happiness to everyone who needs it. You make awkward situations not awkward. I love your dancing and just how you continue to be yourself.  I admire the way you experience God, you can still be you but I can see God in everything you do! Karli: Her gift of...

I could be in India…

Moses said, “Please show me your glory.” And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you…” -Exodus 33:18-19.   I just wanted to write a blog to tell you about God’s glory in bringing me back to Swaziland. He is so good to me to bring me back here for this short while and Exodus 33 says that God’s glory is seen in His goodness. God is so good.  To be honest I never planned on or felt led in any way to come back to Swaziland this year. The thought never crossed my mind. I had pursued many different options but God always said no...
