Imitating Jesus
“BE HOLY, because I AM HOLY”
Imitate: to have or assume the appearance of; simulate; resemble. To follow. A challenge this week for myself is to be an imitator of Jesus. Jesus is holy. He chose me, his child to be holy and to live a holy life pleasing to him. Eph. 5:1-2 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Imitate his love. Love is patient, kind, does not boast, is not proud, is not rude, not self-seeking, not easily angered, keeps no record of wrong. Rejoices in the truth. Always protects, trusts, hopes, persevered. Love never fails.
Imitate his graciousness.
Love on others Jesus’ love.
Imitate his patience.
Imitate his kindness
Imitate his gentleness- Phil.4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
Scripture:
2 Cor. 2:14 Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.
1 Cor.1:4-9 I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, that in every way you were enriched in him in all speech and all knowledge-
even as the testimony about Christ was confirmed among you-
so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jer.33:6-9 Behold, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security. I will restore the fortunes of Judah and the fortunes of Israel, and rebuild them as they were at first. I will cleanse them from all the guilt of their sin against me, and I will forgive all the guilt of their sin and rebellion against me. And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them. They shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.

The following day we brought food and a paraffin stove to Linda: we found out he lives on his own, had no food and a broken stove. Taught preschool Mon and Wed in the morning. Womens Bible Study. Seeing Gogo Alvina (Gogo Flora’s younger sister) brightens me. She is a strong women. She works 6-2pm in a sugar plantation everyday.
