During our testimony time, we can always count on someone asking, “Who is God to you?” I never really thought to heavily on it until I had to share my testimony recently.
It really opened my eyes that we don’t serve a simple, finite god but a God that we can’t wrap our minds around. A God that we can call so many different names and they would all be appropriate. He is Abba Father, He is our Rock, He is our comfort, He is Alpha and Omega, He is our great Shepherd, He is Emmanuel, He is our Lord and Savior, He is our Creator, He is our shelter and strong tower, you can fill it in with whatever you view God as because we can’t put limitations on Him.
God has really been showing me on this trip that in the season of life that I’m in right now that He is my comfort and He is my Shepherd. I stray from Him but I can always count on Him to bring me back to Him. To the people of Swaziland, He is their everything! He is their provider, their shelter, and their Heavenly Father. Everyone here trusts that God will provide for them even if they have nothing! I want that to be my cry and prayer to God by the time I go home. I also challenge all of you to do the same as well. My favorite verses right now are Lamentations 3:20-26 and Psalm 23 talking about God being my portion and shepherd.
