The skies display His craftsmanship

One of my favorite questions to ask people is ‘How/where do you see/feel God with most clarity?’ All of the different answers I get are such a beautiful picture of the personal and unique relationship that the Father has with each of His children. We are all knitted and sewn perfectly by Him in His image, but in completely different ways to serve Him.

Personally my favorite is in and through nature. It blows my mind every time I look out the door and see the huge mountains that the Creator of the universe has made. And don’t even get me started on the stars – ‘He breathed the word, and all the stars were born’ Psalm 33:6 Everything we see is a gift and a beautiful representation of how big, beautiful and powerful our God is.

Everyday I am captivated by the sunsets filled with pinks, yellows, oranges, blues: all different color contrasts of the rainbow. ‘The sun roses at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.’ Psalm 19:6 I love the idea of replacing ‘its heat’ with ‘His love’ because it is such truth. Regardless of where we run, it can be from one end of the earth to the other, but His love still remains and is chasing us.

If you’ve been keeping up with us, you’ve probably heard we’ve gotten to go to the beach. After 4 new stamps in my passport, we arrived in St Lucia, South Africa. I have never seen a more beautiful ocean. Mountains to my left and right and the never ending Indian Ocean right in front of my eyes. (Aka Galveston has a lot to live up to when I get home) The beach just always does it for me. Seriously though, God is EVERYWHERE. In the countless grains of sand – His infinite amount of love, in the waves – he is living and never ending, in the washed up seashells – he wants to be chosen, shown off and kept forever, in the sun – shining in abundance, in the breeze – relieving the constant heat we feel from this world, but mostly in the adventure of all of these things – going after the crazy things and allowing Him to guide and protect you. That one day in the Indian Ocean is definitely one that I will never forget.

A couple of days ago we got to witness the coolest lightning storm. Each time it struck the sky would light up with a silhouette of the mountains. I felt like Jesus was singing me the most beautiful song that I had ever heard. I was sitting outside with Tanner and all of the sudden we hear this loud roaring noise and come to find that it’s getting closer, then to find it’s pouring all around us. ‘You send rain on the mountains from your heavenly home, and you fill the earth with the fruit of your labor.’ Psalm 104:13 No matter if you are ready or not, God is coming after you and pursuing you to produce those good fruits in you. All He’s waiting for is for you to come out and dance in the rain with Him to His own rhythm.

Over debrief in Mlilwane we got the opportunity to hike up Execution Rock. It was definitely also one was also one for the scrapbooks. A 4 hour hike turning into a hike that I’m pretty sure all of us thought would end. As most know, I’m all about adventure, abandoned railroads tracks, cave and waterfalls, but at about hour 2 all excitement may or may not have turned into the anxious ‘we are gonna be stuck in the African mountains’ thought. You see, turns out we had gotten a little off of the directed route due to lack of markings and whatever else the boys say happened. Even though our boys got us back on route eventually, it just reminded me that The Lord is the one leading us, going before us and creating our wills long before we even dare to think about it – so I’m just gonna leave it to Him and one day we will be lead home.

Nature: A living canvas of the beauty and love God has created for you and I. Swaziland has only spoiled me when is comes to being surrounded by His creation.

So, I have to ask… How does God chose to speak to you?
