The power flickered, the lights went out, but God was still there.

Fear. Such a gripping word. It eats into your soul and feels as cold as ice. It swallows it’s victims whole. It’s like a lion seeking who it may devour. It’s crippling. It’s dark. Evil. Far from God. Our team has been struggling with this lately. Some, like me, even from day one. Fear of the dark, fear of the unknown, fear of demonic forces. Fear of being unworthy or not beautiful. Just plain old fear. It’s amazing how such a small word can have such a huge impact.

But last night we took captive those things. As of October 19, 2011, we are free from fear!

The night started out by us just talking about things, which led to confession and crying because of fear. That led to praying, which led to declaration. Then that led to singing and standing on chairs and freezers and shouting! Thanking God for freedom! Thanking Him for peace and comfort. Declaring we are daughters of the Most High God! Rebuking Satan and all his attempts to consume us!

He even tried to get to us during that time. The lights kept flickering because of the storm outside and then the power went out. And I believe it wasn’t just a physical storm, but a spiritual one. At first we were scared, then we embraced the darkness, “God is light in the darkness! You are still here! You are light in the darkness! You are light!”

I experienced God last night. I was afraid at the beginning of the night. Consumed by fear. But then I started praying. And I had thirteen other prayer warriors praying with me. While I was praying, God showed me a light, so bright that it was blinding. It started in the room we were in, and then spread from the building out over our homestead. It kept spreading, pushing out darkness, until it eventually covered the entire town. And I pictured our guardian angels who were ready for battle! They were huge! At least 9 foot tall. With swords and war paint. They were ready for battle, and ready to win. I know that if the devil is trying this hard to attack us then there is something great getting ready to happen that he is trying to keep us from.

So look out Satan, because the battle has begun and we are busting through your ranks. We trampled you under our feet and we’re coming for you. So you better start running. Because God’s on our side, and we all know that nothing can stand against Him.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong, be courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be afraid, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
