“I believe that your hope for growth, meaning and fulfillment as a Christian is based on understanding who you are — specifically, your identity in Christ as a child of God. Your understanding of who God is and who you are in relationship to Him is the critical foundation for your belief system and you behavior patterns as a Christian. (from Victory Over the Darkness)
Over the past couple seasons of my life the Lord has pressed on my heart the importance of realizing our identity in Christ; seeing ourselves and others through his eyes and walking tall as children of God, in all that that means.
One night at training camp the Lord gave me a picture of the words “I am taped to the wall of our house in Swaziland and he showed me our team writing who we are in Christ and taping them to the wall because the truths that the Lord is speaking over one of us is true about all of us. So this week we spent a night in worship and we listened to the specific truths God was speaking over each of us.
As we were listening to the Lord, he showed me a picture of him placing his thumb on my forehead and he said “I am sealed in him. As we are identified by our fingerprints I/We are identified in him. And then he gave me the word APPROVED. I am approved in him and as I thought about what that means he showed me another picture where he set me on a stage in front of everyone and told them this is my daughter, I love her, I trust her, she is mine! I am approved in Him. We are ALL APPROVED in Christ!
I wanted to share some other truths the Lord spoke to us and as you read over them declare them about yourself because this is who you are!
– I am worthy and wanted — Jesus died for ME
– I am free, SINLESS and pure
– I am BOLD
– I am accepted
– I am good-enough
– I am Papa’s girl
– I am His!
– I am chosen and secure in God
– I am perfect and yours
– I am strong, Isaiah 40:31
– I am a treasured possession Deut 7:6
