Being thankful changes everything. It’s easy to focus on the negative around us in how we are feeling or in situations around us but we always have so much to be thankful for and in those times making yourself stop and speak out the things you are thankful for shifts something in the atmosphere and changes your entire day.
So in honour of my Canadian thanksgiving this last Monday here is a list of the things I am thankful for….
– That this is my life, that fact that I get to live in
– For my FAMILY — for my mom, dad and sister Amy who mean the world to me and are so supportive and the best family ever
– For the amazing people God has placed in my life from my adopted brother, to my amazing church family at home to my extended family and community that spreads all over the world.
– That God chose me to live this life and that he trusts me to do it!!! WOW!!!
– For being born and raised in
– My Swazi team and how God is teaching me through them
– That I have a warm bed to sleep in every night
– That we have electricity here
– For the opportunity to play with kids and bring a smile to their face
– For internet
– For toilet paper!
– That my body is healthy…I can see and hear, I can walk without assistance
– For the pb + j sandwich I had for lunch
– For deodorant and soap…could you imaging life without them….
– For people who are generous with their words
– For showers/accessible water
– For the stars, God could have made the world without them but he knew how much we would love them
– I am so thankful for everyone who reads my blogs
There is so much to be thankful for, and there is something so powerful that happens when we position our heart to notice and focus on the positive things rather than the negative things.
