Zephaniah 3:17 He will quiet you with his love.
Deuteronomy 8
Remember the Lord your God led you all the way, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart. Whether or not causing you to hunger, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Observe the commands of the Lord you God, walking in his ways and revering him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land-a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey, a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing.
I’m reading “Mountain of Spices” by Hannah Hurnard and the first Mountain of Law she talks about is the Mountain of Pomegranates. When I was reading through Deuteronomy about the Fear of the Lord it was so neat to see what I am currently reading is relating to what I’m reading in the Bible. This is apart of the chapter about Mountain of Pomegranates.
“Love is the one basic law on which the whole universe is founded, and obeying the law, everything abides in harmony, perfect joy, and perfect fruitfulness.”
“My Lord and King, what is true love? How can it be recognized? I AM LOVE, said the King very clearly. If you want to see the pattern of true love, look at me, for I am the expression of the law of love on which the universe was founded. And the very first characteristic of true love, as I have manifested it, is willingness to accept all other human beings, just as they are, however blemished and marred by sin they may be and to acknowledge oneness with them in their sin and need. To acknowledge also that every human heard needs both love and to be loved, and that hereen lies the very root of the oneness of mankind. For unless you sons and daughters of men are loved and also love all others besides yourselves, you cannot become what you are destined to be, the sons and daughters of God who is love.”
Deuteronomy 10:12 What does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heard and with all your soul.
I am complete in Christ. Colossians 2:9-10 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.
Psalm 25:14 The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes covenant known to them.
Isaiah 54:10 “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord.
God, break my heart for what breaks yours.
Isaiah 30:15 Quietness and trust is your strength. “What you approach me in stillness and trust you are strengthened.”
Exodus 33:14 My presence will go with you and I will give you rest.
Matthew 6:21 Where your treasure is there your heart will also be.
Hebrews 10:22-23 Let us draw near to God with a sincere heard in full assurance of faith, having our heart’s sprinkled to cleans us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised his faithful.
Tigezile (who is 15 years old) and I shared Bible verses together on Monday at the Timbutini carepoint. The first verse she shared was Psalm 86:11 “Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” (and later reading through Psalm 86, verse 12 “I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart, I will glorify your name Forever.”)
