Run with Perseverence

These are some verses that Shannon shared with me this week
that pretty much describe what the Lord has been asking of the rest of our time
in Africa:

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and
in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of
witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily
entangles and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us
fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy
set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right
hand of the throne of God. Consider him endured such opposition from sinful
men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against
sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.” -Hebrews
12:1-4

Shannon gave these verses to me during a time of worship
last week and they really spoke to me. We just got off of debrief and yet there
was still a tendency about the group to lose heart and give in to the weariness
that we have all been feeling and the readiness to be home. But God still has
so much left to do in us here in Nsoko!
