Ministry practice

Ministry practice:
As I see it, that’s really what we’re doing here. At least at our designated ministry places.
We have somewhere between 1 and 4 hours with these people once or twice a week. That is the influence that God has trusted us with in their lives. But what about the people we are with 24/7? Or even our families when we are at home? It would seem that we are to have greater ministry in their lives, seeing that the Lord is trusting us to that position a great deal more of the time than He is with “actual” ministry.
Often times when we get done with “ministry”, that’s it, I want to be done: read a book, listen to music, play a game, just chill out. And those things are all great; and often really necessary. But I wonder what it would look like if I considered being a good steward of the position I have on this team as importantly and intentionally as I do during the “ministry” time? And what about at home?
It’s kind of crazy to think: the people we are with the most are probably the people who God wants to use us in and with the most. When I think about it, the people are not who I expected them to be: my teammates, my leaders. And at home my parents, my closest friends, my coworkers, my roommate.
What if I began to consider my teammates and my leaders just as much my ministry as the other things? What if I made it my goal to serve them, whether that be in word or action or just respect? Just to be able to consider them as part of my ministry, and to consider what God has trusted me with begins to change my mindset, and hopefully has and will begin to greatly change my actions and attitudes.

P.S. Per Kaitlin’s last blog: Khosi was STANDING in the doorway and walking when we visited the hope house today, AND she can move and straighten her right hand. Praise the Lord!
