Love’s not easy but it’s worth it.

Giving up comfort and security to follow God to Swaziland wasn’t easy. In fact, it was one of the hardest thing’s I’ve ever done.

Our house is a hut. Out toilets are holes in the ground in an open metal stall. Our shower is a bucket. Our power goes out randomly. The chickens and dogs poop on our doorstep. We don’t have running water. We rarely have transportation. But what we do have here, is Jesus Christ. He’s still the same. What we do have, is love.

   1 John 4:11

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

I’ve learned in this first week that nothing else matters. God is truly all that I need to survive. He gives me the strength daily. I’m here to love these children and these beautiful people. So when I start to wish our living conditions were different, I just remind myself that love is not easy, it takes sacrifice, but it’s worth it. It’s so worth it.
