WOW! We made it!After a crazy long flight,stay in South Africa, and a long bus ride…We are here in Swaziland, Africa! Honestly, The past 4 days now are just a blur, but I will tell you what i do remember 🙂 .
As we arrived at the homestead I felt at home. This is my new home along with the rosters, black momba, long drop and bucket showers.These little blessings brings such joy and humor to my new life.
In Joshua 1:9 it says ” Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be
terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you
wherever you go.” I find peace!!! The fact that the God of this universe tells me to be strong and courageous… i think that’s pretty incredible! How cool is that?How special is that?
Another cool verse that caught my eye is in Isaiah 41:9-10 where it says..I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant. I have chosen you and have not rejected you.So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. This verse exemplifies this team, God has plucked us from all over the place and we are just beginning to crack the surface of each others lives! This verse is full of many promises that i am holding God to!I am so blessed to be called his child!
This truly is a new world,one that isn’t on t.v. that isn’t spoken of! God is already showing me about the differences between here and home.Even though the sleeping arrangments and bathroom spots are a bit different so are the people. There culture is all about relationships. Not just the fast paced “hi! How are you?” that we so often just say in the states. I met a beautiful young women today named Philani. She just came up to me and started a converstation. She was very interested in us and what the white people were doing here! But she gave me her phone number, so maybe we could catch up soon! I had so much fun with here and i cant wait to keep meeting people!! AHH IM HERE 🙂
