Today has been a day full of dancing. At the care point, we played music and had a big dance party with all the kids. It was a new, fun, silly kind of loving. One little seven-year-old boy was such a joy to dance with. He would copy every move we would do, with excellence actually. (He was a pro at shaking his hips!) We danced and laughed all afternoon and I realized what a beautiful picture it was. We, as followers of Christ, are called to have child-like faith; faith that sees what Jesus does and copys it, just like copying the silly dance moves. The sweet little boy had his eyes glued to us to see what the move looked like, how to do it, and what move was coming next. I want to glue my eyes to Jesus like that. I want to have child-like faith that is totally dependent on my move maker. And that is where God wants us! So simple, yet we seem to make it so complex with theological debates and conferences and how-to-books on living as a Christian. All we need to do is look to Jesus rather than looking everywhere else for direction. There we will find the guidance that we all seem to be seeking. Africa is teaching me how to simplistically live for Christ, and I never want to go back to my old dancing ways.
