Hello Hello everybody,
So about the kiss… One day this past week we we were walking to the Timbutini care point down the road when we ran into a familiar face. As we were walking, Maxwell the 27 year old town drunk, popped out from the side of the road. Needless to say, he was in his usual state. He was also starting his his usual conversation. ‘I love you my sister’, ‘I want to kiss my sister’. He went for poor Melissa first. I think he has the hotts for her dreads.

My second story has less drunks and more kids; 400 to be exact. On Friday morning 6 of us woke up bright and early to do a devotion/presentation for a school down the road with our friend Musa. Everybody had specific roles for the morning: opening prayer, closing prayer, bible verse, and introduction. I was volunteered for the message.
I wasn’t too anxious about it. I mean, so I do a little message/sermon thing for a group of middle schoolers. No big deal. Wrong again. When they gathered this huge mass of children and put us up on an elevated cement section that made for a stage, it was pretty intimidating.
The bible verse was Psalm 139:13-18. So I talked about how God had made every one of them special and unique, and they all had a specific purpose. I talked about how much time He had spent on each of them individually. I broke the ice by pushing my hands against my chest and showing them the large indention I have. I got some pretty funny looks with that one. I told them that God made Kati short, and Musa with a beautiful smile. I went on to talk about just how much God thinks of them; even more than they think about soccer or the food they’d have for lunch. He thinks of them always.
Overall it was a pretty killer first sermon if I do say so myself… kinda. But it was really fun and I can’t wait till my next opportunity.
Lastly I’ll just share some of my thoughts this week.
Isaiah 30:15
‘ For thus says the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel:
In returning and rest you shall be saved
In quietness and trust shall be your strength’
30: 18
‘Therefore the lord waits to be gracious to you;
therefore He will rise up to show mercy to you
For the Lord is a God of justice;
blessed are all those who wait for Him’
Spend time this week in quiet. Stop what you’re doing. Make a conscious effort to set apart time. When I just sit in quiet and trust, I hear so much.
