Welcome to Swazi

Hello!

We’ve all made it safely to Manzini and are settling in rather well. After my cooking mishap (no one has dared to make rice since then) and the monster spider (P.S. we didn’t actually get it out of the bathroom, it’s still dead on the floor, it’s just hidden. J) in our bathroom, we are managing quite well. J

As I’ve slowly come to know my girls better over this past week and a half, I am becoming more and more convinced of God’s perfect placement of them on our team.

Although we are all different and maybe not entirely sure what we are doing here in Africa I see everyday the talents and skills that God has granted each and every one of the girls. My prayer for this trip is that as they go out into the Swazi community over the next three months they begin to see themselves as God sees them and proceed with the confidence and faith that is fighting it’s way out even as we speak (or rather, I type). Each of these girls is filled with power and authority, and all possess the ability to act on it. I am so excited to see and be a part of their growth and development over the next few months.

To all you parents out there, I regret to inform you that your daughter will no longer be the same when she returns. She will have grown and matured into a bold, strong, fearless, and loved woman of God. I’m pretty sure we can all be ok with this.
