Wahoo, HERE at training camp!

The super incredible amazing adventure has begun!  After all teams arrived at the Atlanta airport Friday, we were surprised with an envelope that gave us instructions to find our way to The Safehouse.  We took the Marta (subway) to Peachtree Street.  From there, we asked someone on the street for directions and then were on our way carrying our HEAVY weight of equipment that will last us for for the next three in a half months.  Let me just say:  it was heavy and a great hike to our destination.  At The Safehouse we were told that the rest of the night we were going to spend on the streets.  WHAT?!  So exciting!  I felt (at the time) so ready and confident!  Once we were actually on the streets and began talking to people I became afraid and literally speechless.  These were 2 things I did not what to have happen.  I had to give up trying to find words from God to speak and have the Lord speak through me, in HIS TIME.  His time is perfect, because He is perfect.  We arrived back at The Safehouse around 12 and spent the night there.  Let me just tell you how awesome the room was.  The walls were covered with encouraging words and Scripture.  There were bunk beds (I slept on a mattress on the
floor).  The first night of training camp was great and was a great start to the rest of
training and preparing us for the mission field.

The rest of training camp
consisted of different activities and messages.  These ALL were to prepare us for the
field rapidly.  One of my favorite activities was painting the canvas.  Our team came up
with incredible thoughts of Swaziland.  Such as: colorful, courage, strength,
empowerment, love, trust, hope, joy, life, beauty.

Here’s a part of it:

We serve an amazing God.  A God who is Love, and Love
drives out fear.  ALL FEAR.  Our God reigns.  He is worthy of all glory and honor.  Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”  How exciting to know that this is God’s will, to serve in Swaziland.  To know that He is in complete control.

Living in dependence on Christ Jesus is a glorious adventure.  When you depend on Christ continually, your whole perspective changes.

Tomorrow we leave for the Atlanta airport.  Our flight to South Africa leaves around 7p.m.  Excited to set foot in Africa!!!
