Tipeala- The Boy Who Won My Heart

Yesterday at the care point I was talking to the GoGo’s (the grandmothers) cooking the kid’s against hunger meal for the children when a mother walked up with her baby girl and her son.  The boy was shy, his eye’s where yellow, his hair not combed and his clothes were torn.  He was about 4 years old.  I started to talk to him and play peek a boo.  My heart began to sink as he reach his two arms slowly towards me as he just wanted to be loved.  I picked him up and held him close. I began to sing over him and tell him I loved him.  I told him Jesus loved him.  I found out his name Tipeala.  He won my heart.  It was the first time all week that I had seen him at the care point.  I began to tickle his little empty belly and he lite up with a big smile.  He looked deep into my eyes and I new he was content.  I sat down and placed him in my lap.  He grab my arms and wrapped them around himself tightly.  I knew at that moment that there was no where else I would rather be this summer.  I held him tightly for about an hour until it was time for food.  When he left my arms my heart sank.  I wish that moment could have lasted a lifetime.  I feel today that I had a glimpse into the way that the Lord feels for his children and the love he show us.  Also how his heart breaks when his kids leave his loving arms and presence.  I know I will be praying for Tipeala to come to the Lord just like he came into my arms.
