Swazi Swag

We have settled in to our ministry here in Swaziland and begin working with El Shaddai orphanage. The team is incredible. Their openness to doing life here is exceptional. They embrace community living, and embrace the culture and all the “uncomfortable” that comes with living the life as a missionary. That’s no easy task, but as they will tell you even when it comes to shoveling pig poop all morning to use as fertilizer for a garden, they are all willing to get their hands dirty to stretch themselves and grow during this season of their lives. Our ministry is pretty busy all day we spend most of our mornings in groups some doing manual labor, some helping in the kitchen, some helping with the pig farm, and then others teaching. After that we always come together in small groups and lead bible study’s and lead Chapel as well with some of the older children.

Be joining in with us and praying that we are able to weave our way into the hearts of the kids here. They have racer’s here often so they are used to racer’s coming and going. World Racer’s usually stay for one month, and we are here for two, so we already got something good going for us there. Still they are a little bit skittish, and closed off to relationship with us, but that hasn’t stopped or even slowed down this team. They recognize it, and have dove even deeper into investing in time with the kids. It’s truly amazing to see.

We are living in a small little house, on top of the most beautiful mountain with the most stunning view! We are all already planning hikes on days off, and as I write this now I wish you could hear their laughs that are echoing through our little team home. They’re great, and we are doing amazing settling in as a family, a unit, “The dream team” as they call themselves or aka our “hoodrats”.

We don’t have access to wifi often and it’s real sketchy on the mountain, but we are hoping to get everybody to wifi soon, so they can blog and call home soon! All are great, all are safe and sound, and can’t wait to share with you all that’s going on!
