Then the Lord said to
me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”
-Jeremiah 1:12.
One thing someone may notice about our team (team
Swaziland!) is that we are quiet, sometimes really quiet. Not all the time and
we are becoming a more talkative bunch but since we all met in the Atlanta
airport you could tell that it was going to take a little while longer than
other teams for us to get to know each other.
is little among us when I pray for our team God gives me verses about speaking.
One of the most prevalent ones is Isaiah 50:4:
“The Lord God has
given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain
with a word him who is weary.”
Throughout this trip we are going to be trained into people
who speak as those we are taught by God. We already do speak in this way and
are alive with the Holy Spirit but we are going to mature in it and grow in it.
Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” Pray that
we will speak life to each other and to people we meet. I pray that we can
encourage you with our words in these blogs and that you also can email and
encourage us. We serve an amazing and encouraging God who said that His word is
our very life (Deut. 32:47).
I believe
there is going to be a strength among us that comes by speaking directly from
the Spirit to each other and to the people in Swaziland.
I believe
that in a few weeks when we are blogging again you are going to be astounded at
the things we have to tell you about the ways God has been speaking to and
through us.
I believe
that we as a team are going to learn to walk in a way that does know how to
sustain with a word him who is weary.
I believe
that one of our greatest strengths is that we are all women. A godly woman has
the speaking of kindness on her tongue (Prov. 31).
I believe
that we serve a God who watches over His word and that all we have to do is be
obedient and speak it and He will be faithful and perform it.
