I thought I was going to come to this country to make
a difference.
I thought I was going to come back with stories about the
hundreds of people that accepted Christ, the thousands of orphans that
now know they are loved, and the many that were healed.
While we did amazing things, or rather God did through and in us, it is
so little compared to what this country needs.
It is impossible for us to create the men of God that this country
needs, or love every orphan, or pray for everyone that needs healing.
It is so hard to know that we will leave this country without seeing
drastic change.
That even if we committed our whole life to this place
we couldn’t save it.
However, God can.
He will. He says in His word He will. He told me He
will.
He will take His rightful place on the throne. He will kick Satan out of
this country.
The spirit of darkness and sexual sin will be cast out.
Men will respect women.
Women will respect themselves and realize they
have a say to their body.
The children will be able to be kids. They
won’t have to care for their younger siblings.
They won’t have to grow
up without parents because of the destruction of the AIDS pandemic.
The
disease will be eradicated.
Little girls will know how much they are
loved by a Father greater than any earthly father they could have ever
had.
They will be romanced by the King of Kings.
They will dance with
Him and find their beauty in Him.
God could do all of this without us, but amazingly He chooses to allow
us to be a part of His plan.
While we may not have saved the country, or
even seen drastic change, we created sparks.
Holding a kid for an hour.
Spark.
Handing out toothbrushes.
Spark.
Putting shoes on a kid.
Spark.
Praying for a mom and her son in the hospital.
Spark.
Showing up every week to say hello to a paralyzed man.
Spark.
Even the littlest sparks can set great fires, and many little sparks are
bound to set a fire.
We created some sparks that we will never see the result of.
People will
come after us and continue to create sparks, and one day…
BOOM.
The
fire will catch.
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have
shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” –
Hebrews 6:10
