Last Thursday, we did ATL (ask The Lord) in the city. Basically this means we ask The Lord in the morning for words, visions, directions, etc. for the day and then go where the Spirit leads us. I was with a team of 4 girls and we started our morning off praying at a local church. I got some really weird words and phrases from The Lord (at least I thought so). After we shared our lists as a team we went out. As we were walking we saw a nightclub called Club Babylon. Intrigued, we decided to go in. It was super dark and no one was inside except the bartender. He was 24 and super friendly so we chatted with him for a while. Meanwhile, I was looking at my list to see if there was anything about the guy that matched what I heard from The Lord earlier that morning. Then I heard someone ask him his name…his name was Peter. Earlier that morning The Lord kept putting the phrase “Peter walks on water” on my mind. Then I looked down to see the floor… The floor was glass with a light show underneath that was intended to look like water… UMMMMM, what?
Long story short, I showed Peter my list. He was just as shocked as we were. He is a believer, but he said he was losing hope that his life could get back on track. He dropped out of school in 2010 and started courses to get his what is equivalent to our GED, but had to stop because he couldn’t afford the fees.
We asked him if we could pray for him and he was so excited. We prayed for him and he wept the entire time. A 24 year old bartender dude, weeping as 4 girls prayed for him in the middle of a club. HA! After we prayed we asked him if he had a bible and he said no but that he has always wanted one. We bought him a bible and underlined about 50 of our favorite verses. Our contact agreed to meet us there in the afternoon to deliver the bible and meet Peter. Peter was so thankful, and our contact has lined someone up to disciple him and answer his questions about the bible! We are going to continue to minister to him during our time here and we fully believe that The Lord is going to use him in a big way for the kingdom.
All of this being said… I want to pay his school fees. According to our contact here, I can go with him to the school and pay the fees to make sure that the money goes where it is supposed to. In order for him to complete his courses he needs $270. That’s not a lot of money, but I need your help!! If you feel led to donate to this awesome man, please let me know!
