Wow! We have been here for about 2 weeks now, although it seems a lot longer than that! God has already been moving in me these last couple weeks especially since i have been struggling with homesickness! God is good though. We have been continuing going to the carepoints, and i love seeing all the kids faces when we show up! It is so sweet and letting them climb all over you! Some boys almost broke my back by trying to get on it! But i loved hanging with them every moment.
Being here has been hard work, but i enjoy getting to know this different culture out here. It makes me realize sometimes how selfish i am. How i have all these things back in America, and they have nothing but they are still happy with what they have! Just being here is an experience that i will never forget!
God has taught me so much lately! Especially 1 John 4:18. I have been struggling with fear lately, but through this verse i’m really trying to overcome this fear.
It came with a devotional that really got to me. The devotional that went with that totally got me to what i was worried about. It says that “love drives fear away and knowing you are loved perfectly means you needen’t be afraid of anyone or anything. It says that God has the power to deal with whatever causes you fear and you can place your confidence in him. When you know you are loved and when you respond to others with love, fear disappears. when you know you are loved, God’s grace, power, and presence embrace you. You know you are always in God’s hands of love.”God loves me, so he also rules over everyone else. God is in control, and i shouldn’t be worrying about something that is not in my control. I have a lot of fears right now, but looking at the saying: “Perfect Love drives off Fear”is really helping me. I need to put it by my bedside to remind me!
Overall, our team is getting along great! We are enjoying every moment of our time here together! We are a family now and are helping us with everything. especially homsickness. God is so good and i know he will do amazing things while over here!
