As we are just now finishing training camp I find myself thinking that I can’t wait for it to be over! But not because it hasn’t been wonderful, it has! Only because I feel so Much more prepared and excited to go to Swazi after all that we have learned and done in the last few days… I’m finally ready to be there!!
Training camp truly has been incredible. On the first day we had the opportunity to go of into atlanta and just talk to random people. Lucky us: dragoncon was in town! This filled the streets with extravagantly dressed scifi lovers imitating their favorite characters, definitely some interesting stories to be heard! I was fortunate enough to sit down next to someone relatively normal looking and struck up a conversation. It turns out he was the director of a film and was at the conference promotig it. He even knew Tom Felton and Kelsey Grammar! Our conversation evolved and when we got to talking about spiritual things, it was obvious that we didn’t agree, however much to my surprise there was no argument and both views were expressed with ease. It was so encouraging to experience!
During the time since we got into our training here at the AIM base we have been going a lot, busy busy busy! The Lord has done a lot in preparing our individual hearts and our team to go to Swaziland tomorrow. As I’ve been reading 2 Peter two themes that I have encountered are that of diligence in guarding our faith and the reward and goal of simply knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It’s really restful to know that even though we are getting so much information and preparation, my end goal is to know my Lord and serve Him lovingly, in this season in Swazi. So good! I’m really excited to see how those things are expanded upon and what new things the Lord has to reveal in Swazi!
