Love is

We were able to visit a wonderful lady named Gogo Flora last week. She lives a short walk from the team house, so we were surprised when she told us that her asthma was so bad that she couldn’t make the five minute walk to church every week. We were heartbroken to hear this. How many of us take our weekly worship for granted?

Love is hurting for those who hurt.

Tanner just was not okay with this, and he saw there was something that could be done. He was able to buy her a hymn book for about ten dollars. We visited her again as soon as we could and gave her the book. You would have that we had given her a million bucks. Such a simple gesture meant so much to her.

Love is when you give what you have.

It’s so easy to fool ourselves. It’s so easy to think we have nothing to offer, but real love only requires a willing heart. Love is not about what you are doing, but rather the heart behind it.

Love is buying a hymn book for someone that can’t make it to church. Love is throwing a corn cob around with a kid at the care point, because who has a baseball around here anyway? Love is sitting with the five year old outside the house, because his mother and father are both gone. Love is not about what you have to offer, it’s about how you offer what you have.

Love is giving yourself away.
