I have fallen in love with Nsoko. Possibly one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I wish I could explain to the Swazis how beautiful their country truly is. Of course they all picture America as something that is ten times better than their land, but in all honesty I’m sure after spending maybe a week in NYC they would miss their vast lands and beautiful mountains.
The past two and a half weeks have been a constant go, go, go..and God has opened up more doors than our team could have ever imagined. Whether it’s speaking at a public school, going to share the word at different homesteads, or getting to watch the sunrise and set everyday…the Lord has truly opened our eyes to his Kingdom. Each day I wake up, I have this hunger for more of his Kingdom to pour out on us. Natalie recieved a word from the Lord a few nights ago about spending a few nights in constant prayer. So each team member was assigned an hour during the night that we would spend in prayer and listening for a word from the Lord.
Between the hours of 10 PM and 7 AM, someone was constantly praying. My first night, I prayed at 1 AM and it is so cool to see how the Lord can fill up a person’s mind with all of his word after being in a deep sleep. We each had a piece of paper, or whatever we felt the spirit leading us to create, that we hung up on the wall of our family area to show each other what the Lord was speaking to us during our hour. The different verses, words, and praise lyrics that are shown to each of us are scattered across the wall. Some of us recieved similar or the same messages and it goes to show how powerful the Holy Spirit can move through us and reach our minds.
A major word that all of us recieved was to pray for the government of Swaziland. I pray constantly that the Lord would manifest himself in front of the King so that he could reach the people of Swaziland. Our team attended a festival two days ago where pretty much all of the countryside people came to. Everybody was told that the Queen Mother was to show up and so everybody sat and waited under a tent for the Queen to arrive. There were girls who danced and people who sang some gospel music, but the Queen never showed up. Veli (one of our ministry partners) said that the Queen Mother would most likely send a representitive down to the festival. This made me furious. How can a Queen, who supposedly loves her country, not even take maybe an hour drive, down to the countryside to visit her people who look up to her? Everybody got their best dresses and shoes to come down to this festival where the one reason they probably came, never even happened.
I pray the Lord would place his hands on the Kingdom of Swaziland and the hearts of the King and Queen so that they may be shown grace for their selfish love.
“For it is by grace
you have been saved-through faith
and this not from yourselves,
it is the gift of God”
Ephesians 2:8
I can’t believe we only have a few more weeks together and on this beautiful continent….but no worries…I’ll be back 😉
