Happy Graduation

Ever since graduating high school a few months ago I
have really been praying about how to wisely spend my graduation money.

Like most Americans that visit third world
countries, quickly after arriving in Swaziland it occurred to me that I need
absolutely nothing and that I’m already living in excess compared to most of
the world.

A few weeks ago I told you guys about
the “dump carepoint”. If you didn’t read my last blog about the gutter kids,
now would be a good time to click over and check it out.

…So the week after I came to the
conclusion that I was a child of the
gutter
and needed to be more effective as the hands and feet of Jesus
Christ…

I was already praying about my graduation money and
really felt like I needed to bless the children here with what the Lord had
given me. (It’s all his anyway)

Basically the next time we were in town we went to
the store, and after many confusing conversations with the employees/cashier I was able to purchase around 120
toothbrushes and toothpaste for the children at the carepoint.

A few hours after the grocery store fiasco we were
able to hand out the toothbrushes and toothpaste to the kids. You should’ve
seen their tiny brown faces light up when they received such a small gift.

They were so cute running around telling their
friends what color they got and comparing them like they were brand new cars.

Every week when we arrive at this adorable little
carepoint these children remind me to see Jesus in the little things… like a
green toothbrush.

Trust me when I say it was by the grace of God that
I even passed high school. So it’s only right that this money goes toward being
the hands and feet of his Son. After all, it belongs to him anyway.

I want to thank any of you that were so generous in
sending me graduation money to begin with, and as my journey in Swaziland
continues please be in prayer that I would be able to use it to bring God the
glory.

Not just that these people would see a random white
girl handing out toothpaste, but a random white girl that is giving out of her
love for Jesus Christ and because of his
love for his beautiful children of his beautiful country.
