Give Me Your Eyes

We are strong. We are courageous. We are compassionate. We are SWAZI 2010! Yesterday and today we spent our afternoons painting on a canvas what God’s mission and vision for our trip is.  As we prayed we couldn’t helped but be overwhelmed with what the Lord is doing. Our God is a GOOD God!!!

This is our painting:
And this is what it represents:
The eye was the clearest representation we had.  It represents the fact that we are to look at the people of Swaziland through God’s eyes and not our own.
Africa is where we are going, and the heart in the middle represent the love we have for the people there.
The water flowing from the hands of God represents the love God has poured out on all of us, which in return we will pour out on the orphans of Swaziland.
The madness of colors around it represents two things. The first is the brightness, beauty, and freedom that children have. We as a team have been called to love on these wonderful examples of joy.  The second is that we are the hands of Christ, which is why we painted all of that with our hands. We as the body of Christ have been called to be the hands and feet of Christ, and we are now getting to live that out in one of the most beautiful senses.
Finally, the words around the border are words we have for the people of Swaziland.  Our hope is to spread courage, mercy, hope, peace, life, beauty, glory, freedom, love, joy, and health to the people of Swaziland.  We are confident in the fact that God will do this through us.
I have grown so much in the past few days.  I’ve fallen in love with the eleven other girls going on this trip. They are all beautiful, brave, confident women of God, and I can’t wait to see what new heights God takes us to.  We are strong. We are courageous. We are compassionate.  We are SWAZI 2010!!!
