We have finally arrived in Swaziland and getting settled into our new surroundings. We are living on a homestead in the city of Timbutini. It’s been interesting and fun getting here. After a 16 hour plane ride and a 5 hour bus ride to the homestead in Swaziland, we were all exhausted. We have enjoyed our stay so far at the homestead! From living with chickens and goats everywhere we go and going to the bathroom in a tin thing without a door and a huge hole in the ground with only a seat cover, it has for sure been interesting and a very different experience. We are still getting used to this new culture.
We have now been to 2 carepoints around Timbuniti. carepoints are where kids come from all over to eat and play games. I have loved going! It has been such a blast getting to know the kids and playing with them! The people here in Swazi are so sweet! Some of the kids i have gotten to know, have hung on me, played with my watch, and smiled whenever i did something with them. They loved pushing the buttons on my watch and hearing the sound of it. I also got a chance to know some of the older kids by playing some games with them. They also enjoyed giving me a new hairdo. It was quite interesting. God has been so good to us and I know he will work big time during this trip. It’s sorta been hard to adjust to but it sure has been fun getting to know each other. We are all getting along really well! This past week we have been going to a revival at the church and it’s been interesting seeing how they learn the gospel.
